EXTENDED RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY

We have extended our return policy until January 31 2025 on all orders placed between December 3 and 20, 2024. 

CHRISTMAS & GIFTING 

Due to shipping delays, we highly recommend that you order your gifts earlier than usual to make sure you have your delivery on time. We will ship the orders as soon as possible however postal delays are to be expected during this time of high-volume online purchasing.

To receive your Christmas orders on time, we suggest placing your orders before:

1. INTRODUCTION

These Terms apply to all orders for, and purchases of products made from Georg Jensen Online only.

2. INTENDED GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE

This website and its contents are intended for access by persons located in Australia. We make no representation that the content and operation of this website will comply with any foreign law.

 

3. WEBSITE CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS

Customers may elect, as part of their registration for a customer account on our website, to include their billing details, which allows for a faster process when they place future orders. Those customers acknowledge they are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any such information provided.
Georg Jensen stores personal information from our customers in strict compliance with our Privacy Policy and Australian laws, as set out in the “Privacy” section of these Terms below.

 

4. PAYMENT METHODS

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, PayPal (for more information please see PayPal’s website at www.paypal.com), Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna Pay Over Time (read more about Klarna Pay Over Time here) and Afterpay (read more about Afterpay here) for purchases from our website via a secure online facility. If a payment method is declined at the time an order is placed on our website, that order will not be forwarded to us for further processing. Payment must be cleared prior to shipping of goods.

From time to time, some goods may be out of stock or are unavailable and we may not be able to fulfil all or part of your order. If this happens, we will refund you the price paid for the goods impacted.

Please note that we do not store credit card details. Registered customers will be required to re-enter those details for each new transaction.

In some instances, we may require further verification information for a credit card to be used for payment. If so, our staff member will contact you. Examples of when this may occur include multiple unsuccessful card charge attempts for an order, a delivery address that is unable to be verified, and orders that include high value items.

If we cannot reach you about your order using the contact details you provided in the order, after having made reasonable attempts to contact you, we will cancel your order and refund any money paid.

Georg Jensen accepts no liability whatsoever for any orders cancelled due to a failure of payment, whether by credit card payment or a payment service provider (e.g., PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna Pay Over Time or Afterpay).

Georg Jensen encrypts card data with the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol. This means that unauthorized persons cannot view a card number or other information transmitted during the order transaction. All of the above-listed methods of payment for website orders are processed by Adyen B.V., PayPal, Klarna Pay Over Time and Afterpay, while Georg Jensen Pty Limited is the Merchant of Record (i.e. the legal entity receiving payment for your purchase). 

Title to goods passes upon full payment being received by Georg Jensen or the goods being dispatched, whichever is later.

PAYMENT WITH PAYPAL

Georg Jensen accepts payment with PayPal, which offers a simplified payment service.  For more information, please see PayPal’s website at www.paypal.com

PAYMENT WITH AFTERPAY

Georg Jensen accepts payment in instalments with Afterpay on orders up to $2,000. Afterpay is solely responsible for the approval or otherwise of your payment request. For more information, please see Afterpay’s website at www.afterpay.com.

 

5. GIFT CARDS

You may purchase a Georg Jensen Gift Card or a Georg Jensen Electronic Gift Card (collectively “Gift Cards”) in any Georg Jensen shop or online at georgjensen.com/en-au.

If purchasing online, you will be required to confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

A Gift Card can only be issued in the currency and the amounts applicable to the country in which it is purchased or issued. Gift Cards purchased in a Georg Jensen Store in Australia or via georgjensen.com/en-au are issued in AUD. Gift Cards can only be redeemed against Georg Jensen products sold in the same currency.

You - or the person you have transferred a Gift Card to - may use a Gift Card in Georg Jensen stores in the country in which the Gift Card was purchased or issued. Gift Cards issued in AUD are redeemable both online at georgjensen.com/en-au and in all Georg Jensen stores in Australia. Please visit the Store Locator or contact our Customer Services team in Australia for details of your nearest store. The Gift Card is not accepted by third parties in Australia or elsewhere selling Georg Jensen products.

Gift Cards will expire 3 years after date of purchase. 

When using a Gift Card on the Georg Jensen online shop, you will be required to give the card number and the PIN which is revealed by scratching off the panel next to the serial number on the back of the Gift Card (physical Gift Cards) or received by e-mail (electronic Gift Cards). 

When you use a Gift Card, the amount of your purchase including VAT will be deducted from the balance on the Gift Card. If your purchase totals less than the value of the Gift Card, any balance will be left as credit for you on the Gift Card to spend in the future. Change will not be given. 

If the amount of your purchase exceeds the balance on your Gift Card you will be required to pay the remaining price of the product by some other acceptable means for payment. You can use up to 3 Gift Cards for the same purchase whether online or instore. 

You may obtain information about the remaining balance on the Gift Card by typing in the Gift Card number in the balance check function on our website.

All refunds of goods or services purchased with a Gift Card will be made in accordance with Georg Jensen’s refund policy. This does not affect your statutory rights. Any refunds will be issued as a new Electronic Gift Card or returned to your existing Gift Card. You may also exchange for other Georg Jensen goods in accordance with Georg Jensen’s exchange policy and no cash refunds will be given. 

Gift cards are not refundable once purchased. 

Georg Jensen is not responsible for any fraudulent use or misuse of the Gift Card. Any lost, stolen or destroyed Gift Cards cannot be replaced. Georg Jensen will cancel the value of a Gift Card if we fail to receive payment from the purchaser's bank or card company for the initial purchase of the Gift Card. 

Georg Jensen is not liable for any other costs or expenses whether direct or indirect incurred to the purchaser except for the value of the gift card upon refund. 
Georg Jensen reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time where we consider it reasonable and necessary to do so; an up-to-date version can be found on our website, georgjensen.com/en-au.

FREE SHIPPING FOR ORDERS OVER $150

Georg Jensen offers free delivery Australia-wide for orders over $150 and under 2 kg.

Free shipping may be offered in connection with special offers.

SHIPPING METHODS AND FEES

All orders will be shipped via Australia Post E-parcel, unless we indicate otherwise.

Our standard shipping rates including GST within Australia, except where free shipping or an alternative shipping rate is indicated on an order, are as follows:

  • Standard shipping: AU$15 on orders below AU$150 or over 2 kg.
  • Free shipping on orders above AU$150 and under 2 kg. 
  • Express shipping: AU$20

We will contact you in relation to freight charges for orders over 5 kg.

All orders delivered by standard shipping will require a signature upon delivery. Where possible, we recommend that you use a business address for delivery where a trusted person is available to sign. If there is not a person available at the indicated place of delivery to sign for the delivery, you may be required to collect the delivery from a place nominated by the shipping company, such as an Australia Post store. 

UNATTENDED DELIVERIES

We strongly recommend that you do not instruct any shipping company to leave a delivery from us at any unattended location. Georg Jensen accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any delivery left at an unattended location.

ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIMES

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an e-mail with your tracking number so you can monitor the progress of the delivery. We cannot guarantee local delivery conditions and do not provide a guaranteed delivery time at the customer/recipient address. 
We will endeavor to deliver your purchase to you promptly, however, all shipments may be subject to delays during peak periods or when shipped to regional areas. Please allow up to 5 extra days during sale periods.

STANDARD SHIPPING TIME

The following standard delivery times within Australia are estimates only:

  • METRO AREAS (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, and Hobart): 2 – 7 business days.
  • NON-METRO AREAS: 3 – 10 business days.  

EXPRESS SHIPPING TIME

Express post shipping within Australia is overnight for metropolitan areas and up to 4 days for regional areas as per Australia Post guidelines, however, please allow an extra day for processing and preparation of your order. Most express orders are shipped from our premises the next business day. 

MULTIPLE SHIPMENTS

Orders will be sent in one shipment when all products in the order are homeware items. For orders with both jewellery and homewares, your order will be split into two shipments, and you will receive two tracking numbers, one for each parcel. Should a product from your order not be available within our standard shipping times, a member of our staff will endeavour to contact you. If you have any questions or need further assistance with orders please contact customer service store.online.au@georgjensen.com  or 1800 441 765 so we can assist you.

STOCK AVAILABILITY

Please be aware that we receive online orders 24 hours a day. Therefore, an item you have selected may become sold out between updates of stock availability on the website and the time of your order.

If an item you have selected has sold out we will attempt to contact you at the email address and telephone numbers provided with your order to advise if and when stock will become available.

We will not be liable for a failure to deliver your order due to circumstances beyond our control, and if we cannot deliver, we will refund your payment.

 

7. RETURN POLICY

EXTENDED RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY

We have extended our return policy until January 31 2025 on all orders placed between December 3 and 20, 2024. 

 

If you are unhappy about an item purchased via the online store, where that item is not defective and is not damaged, we may, at our discretion, provide an exchange or refund equal to the amount you paid for the returned item.

You must notify us of your request to return an item within 14 days of the purchase date of that item by contacting us at store.online.au@georgjensen.com or 1800 441 765. 

If we approve your request to return your item, we will provide you with a shipping address and return details. All goods must be received back by us in new and unused condition (including packaging) within 14 days of purchase for an exchange or refund to be issued. 

Goods purchased online may also be returned to a Georg Jensen store (excluding David Jones locations) for exchange if a copy of your purchase invoice is provided.

Refunds for goods purchased online are only available via the online store and must be returned to the shipping address we provide you with. Refunds for online purchases are not possible via Georg Jensen Stores, only exchanges. 

You will be responsible for any return shipping costs of undamaged or non-defective items. 

It is important that you do not break any seal/label on the product. If the seal/label is broken, that product will not be eligible for an exchange or refund. 

If you received a free gift as a part of your purchase, you must also return the free gift to us if you no longer meet the conditions for receiving that free gift. If you no longer meet the conditions for the free gift and do not return the free gift with the purchased item, we will deduct the value of the free gift from the associated refund or exchange.  

Please note that rights to repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or compensation do not apply to items intended for re-sale by the purchaser.

7.1. FAULTY, DAMAGED, MISSING GOODS

While we make every attempt to ensure your order arrives complete, and in undamaged condition, occasionally this does not happen. You must contact Georg Jensen at store.online.au@georgjensen.com or 1800 441 765 within 48 hours of receiving the goods to advise us of any missing item, or that they are in damaged or faulty condition. We will then provide the postage details for the return of the faulty or damaged goods, which will be at no charge to you.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Georg Jensen is happy to offer a 2-year replacement warranty on all jewellery products and a 1-year replacement warranty on all home products (both, Warranties) from the date of purchase. The Warranties do not apply where the product has been subject to misuse or general wear and tear. An assessment will be made of the product. The product must be returned to the point of purchase with proof of purchase. For homeware goods purchased online, please send a photo of your product to store.online.au@georgjensen.com and we will advise you details of return of product for further assessment.

The Warranties are in addition to guarantees in relation to all Georg Jensen products that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Please note, stones may show natural discolouration or other natural variations that are not manufacturing or quality defects. Georg Jensen’s decision regarding minor variations is final.

If you choose to receive a refund, we will process that refund within 14 days of receiving the goods. However, you may not receive the refund for some time due to delays by the financial institutions. We have no control over such delays by those financial institutions.

If you elect to receive a replacement, those items will be sent to you as soon as practicable after we receive the returned goods. If we are out of stock of any replacement item, or that item has been discontinued, we will endeavour to contact you to discuss the matter.

If the item is discontinued, we may suggest alternate goods as a replacement. If you decide to accept an alternative item, you must pay any additional costs over the cost of the returned item, or if the cost of the alternative item is less than the returned item we will refund the difference to you.

7.2. PROMOTION AND SALE ITEMS

From time to time, we may offer certain goods as “promotion” or “sale” items (Promotion Items) with a discounted price. Often, Promotion Items contain minor flaws or damage.
You acknowledge that, by purchasing a Promotion Item, you accept that the Promotion Item is sold “as is” and that the discounted price of that item fairly reflects any flaws or damage it may contain. Therefore, Promotion Items are not eligible for a refund or replacement, other than as required by law (such as in the case of an obvious manufacturing fault).Purchases of Promotional Items are limited to 5 per item per purchaser, unless we indicate otherwise.

Final Sale / Discontinued items that are marked as is, are not eligible for return, unless required by law (such as in the case of an obvious manufacturing fault) we recommend choosing carefully to avoid disappointment and suggest contacting customer service for assistance prior to purchasing. 
A notice will appear on the product page and in your cart for items that have been marked as discontinued / final sale, and by purchasing a final sale item you agree that the items cannot be returned.

 

8. PRIVACY

Your privacy and the protection of your personal information is of great importance to us. Please refer to Georg Jensen’s Privacy Policy for information about how we use the data we receive about visitors to our website. 

 

9. LINKED WEBSITES

Our website may contain hyperlinks to other websites (Linked Websites). Georg Jensen does not control the content of linked websites nor does it control the third parties operating those websites. We therefore accept no responsibility for the content, availability or operation of any Linked Website.

 

10. COOKIES

11. ORDERS SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS SUBSEQUENT

PRICING MISTAKES OR WEBSITE ERRORS

We endeavour to ensure that all information on our website, including the details, descriptions and prices of our products, is accurate. However, errors may occur from time to time.

We reserve the right to cancel an order (or part of it) prior to shipment where the website contained errors or inaccuracies, including, without limitation, out-of-date information and incorrect pricing, and misdescriptions or incorrect details regarding shipping, payment or return policies (all, Website Inaccuracies). Upon discovery of a Website Inaccuracy, we will contact you as soon as practicable to discuss a replacement order. If payment has been received, we will promptly refund the paid amount of the cancelled order (or part of that order, as applicable).

LIMITATION OF ITEMS

Georg Jensen may limit the number of items supplied per customer at our discretion. If an order exceeds that limit, we may reduce the number of items to the limit and will promptly refund any amounts paid for the items removed, and will notify you of that change as soon as practicable.

 

12. EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY SUBJECT TO CONSUMER GUARANTEES

You have certain non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Consumer Law), including guarantees for the quality of our products and replacements or refunds if they are faulty or damaged when you receive them.

Subject to those non-excludable rights, Georg Jensen expressly disclaims any implied or express warranties or conditions of any kind as to the nature, standard, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or otherwise relating to any product or service offered on this website.

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMER FOR USE OF THIS WEBSITE

Except as expressly provided in these Terms, nothing set out in these Terms shall be construed as conferring on you any licence or right, by implication, estoppel or otherwise, under copyright or other intellectual property laws. You must obtain the prior written consent of Georg Jensen before you download, print, copy, reproduce or adapt (by electronic means or otherwise) any of the Content, except where allowed under Australian law, in which case Georg Jensen must be acknowledged as the source of the Content.

 

14. TERMINATION

Georg Jensen may terminate these Terms and your access to our website at any time without notice. In the event of termination you are no longer authorised to access the website, but all restrictions imposed on you and all disclaimers and limitations of liability set out in these Terms will survive.

 

15. GOVERNING LAW

 These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia and you irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
