For the 10th year, Georg Jensen continues to partner with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), Australia's leading
independent funder of ovarian cancer research. This enduring commitment is a testament to Georg Jensen's legacy in providing
sustained funding for critical research that can help better detect, treat and prevent ovarian cancer. 



This year, Georg Jensen introduces the 2024 campaign, Untold Stories. We share the poignant personal story of
OCRF ambassador Suki Paddington, alongside her husband Kevin and their son Kai. Suki and her family
faced an unimaginable loss when her mother, Margy, was tragically taken by ovarian cancer in 2023.
In telling Margy's story, Suki honours her mother's legacy, raises awareness, and preserves her memory. Margy's
loss was a profound injustice. No life should be cut short by ovarian cancer - women and families deserve better.

Ovarian cancer stands as the most lethal among all women's cancers, with a five-year survival rate that has remained below 50% for decades. It is the deadliest of all gynaecological cancers in terms of survivability.

 In Australia, five new cases of ovarian cancer are diagnosed each day, and this number continues to
rise. Tragically, we lose more than 1,000 women and girls to ovarian cancer annually, equating to one
life lost every eight hours. Despite this, ovarian cancer remains chronically underfunded.

The design of the 2024 OCRF pendant in 18kt gold or sterling silver is based on a 1971 creation of Swedish designer Vivianna Torun, the first globally renowned female silversmith. 

 

The original "Forget-Me-Knot" design features a thin strand of gold intertwined into organic
shapes, giving life to a unique and elegant piece. Vivianna Torun designed the
Forget-Me-Knot to remind the wearer never to forget herself, and this timeless inspiration has
been beautifully extended to embrace the collective cause of the Ovarian Cancer Research
Foundation, honouring family members and friends affected by ovarian cancer.
